On June 17, 2026, in the W Uszach Są Pegazy space in Poznań, a meeting of the Feminist Self-Education Group devoted to Adrienne Rich’s text “Compulsory Heterosexuality” will take place.
The group was created out of the need for learning together, reading together and talking about theories, practices and phenomena important for feminist and queer imagination.
The meetings are horizontal in character – there is no division here into “expert” and “participating” persons. This is a space for discussion, asking questions and exchanging thoughts, in which people look together at what is often considered obvious, but in reality results from social norms and structures of oppression.
The group focuses on the experiences of women, people with women’s experience and queer people, as well as all people interested in the themes of gender, sexuality and power relations.
The June meeting, in the spirit of Pride, will be led by Maria Lis from the Siostra Safony profile – an initiative dealing with education about the history of lesbians, queer people and feminism. In an accessible and engaged way, they bring closer lesser-known threads, figures and phenomena, creating a space for recovering and telling history from a lesbian and queer perspective.

Maria Lis – graphic designer and activist, fascinated by feminism and its history. She has great resources of willingness to educate and faith in a better tomorrow for queer people, which she pours into the lesbian-feminist Instagram account @siostrasafony.
