The Migration Consortium together with Plan International Poland will talk about the situation of queer refugees – what forces people to come to Poland and how two parallel humanitarian crises on Poland’s eastern borders have affected their prospects for safe stay in the country. We will address the issue of intersectional humanitarian aid and where identities intersect – and whether the Polish asylum system is prepared for that?
We will invite members of the Queer Without Borders collective, who work with refugees on the Polish-Belarusian and Polish-Ukrainian borders.
In addition, we will host an expert from Plan International Poland, who will speak about the dangers faced by LGBTQI+ individuals in other humanitarian contexts.
We will also present the first findings of the report on the situation of LGBTQI+ refugees titled Crossing Double Borders, which will premiere in June.
