The workshop will be based on creating your own manifestos. Based on already existing queer, feminist and ecocritical manifestos, we will create our own one, which reflects who we are. Books and printed examples of manifestos will be available on site, which directed the vectors of social and literary history towards liberation-oriented communities and had a countercultural character.
But not only such ones – personal, individual manifestos also have enormous power. Based on available poetry and fragments of prose texts, you will get to know examples proving that a voice has power not only when it resounds in polyphony. Poetic tools effectively make it possible to create texts which, apart from engaged value, may also have an artistic expression.
In addition to this, there are slam techniques, which will make us aware of how to combine what resounds in the textual layer with our body, voice. In what way do I want to read my manifesto? What will my body tell during manifesting? How to combine voice and words?
People participating in the workshop will be able to come and, under the guidance of the facilitator (Michalina Janas), create their literary, socially engaged manifesto. We will write them on sheets of paper, and whoever is willing will be able to present it. The workshop is continuous and open in character, whoever wants to join will be able to do so, and whoever wants to come just for a while is also invited.
